Chapter 4: Patience! The Moment Awaits!

A magician can start their training when they are at least nine years old. Those words were stuck in my head, it’s starting to get a bit annoying. Nine years old… That’s three years away, then I can finally cast my first spell. But however, I still have to get to climb to the library for Claude’s lessons. And I was starting to not like books because of those experiences. There was one time were I almost fell to my death off the railings when I decided to lay on it to rest, and once, I even cried like a new-born infant on the stairs due to my exhaustion (long story). I was starting to get irritated by those monstrous mountain-climbing stairs. There must be a shortcut to it… I asked many people for more faster (and safer) ways. I remember asking some maids about it, they said that they don’t know since they had never been to the library. Then a guard, who replied that he had never knew we had a library. Then a servant, “What’s a library?” that servant had replied. It’s stra...

Chapter 3: A Lesson to Learn!

You guys remember when I asked Claude when will I be ready to learn magic? Well, it has been a few months since our parents’ passing. And despite we’re possibly still mourning for them, I kept asking my brother about when I be ready for magic. “I told you, for the forty-seventh time, I’ll teach you how to cast one when you are ready.” He answered every time I asked him. I am quite obsessed with learning it right now. And I might ask Claude these questions in quite abnormal places; like in the Hall of The Monarchs (I don’t know why would I be there), in the dining area when we were alone, and even in the restrooms while we were minding our own business (long story). What does he mean “ready”? When I’m old enough? When I get to do something to impress Claude? I just don’t get it… Does every magician in this world has to be “ready” to learn magic? Like, how old were they when they first learned it? I think I can manage it well… It’s just like saying a word and cast it or something...

Chapter 2: A New Ruler Arises!

My brother looks awesome with that crown. It has been three days since my parents had left us. And now, our kingdom will have to be ruled by their next heir, which was my big brother Claude. Claude received the crown and the throne, and had become the new king of Paxsalam. But still, all of us were not in the mood and many of the citizens mostly cried when he wore the crown. My mother and father were very excellent monarchs. Okay, I’m not saying that my brother is not a good king, it’s just that my parents were helpful and kind rulers. And that everyone loved them like they were their children. But now, they were gone. And everyone was in despair, and felt that they had no hope without their king and queen. But hey, they loved me and my brother too. I know that my brother will be a great ruler, and we will be back in our normal state in no time… Right? However, we were pushed through a deeper depression when we all prepared for our parents’ burial. We wore our most resp...

Chapter 1: Paxsalam’s Despair!

Claude was disturbed by the news. He always stood at the tower, looking over the Kingdom of Paxsalam every night, waiting for his parents return. He tapped his magic staff on the ground nervously, thinking about his parents’ advice before they left. Claude is the prince of the king and queen of Paxsalam. He also had a six-year-old brother, Edward. He remembered that his mother and father had told him that they are going to an island located south to discover some new herbs that could help their kingdom against plagues. “Brother?” Claude had heard his brother’s voice from his bedroom. He took his staff and headed towards the room. “I’m here.” Claude said in a gentle and calm (which was definitely not calm now) voice. “Is there anything you need?” “When will mummy and daddy come home big bro?” Edward asked. Claude had heard that question every night after his parents went on their journey. And he wished he knew the answer. Despite being a prince, he was a brilliant magici...
